All I got for Christmas was knitting stuff…

All I got for Christmas was knitting stuff…

I’m kind of annoyed with blogger and/or netscape. One of them is causing netscape to crash anytime I attempt to log in to blogger on the actual blogger site. Yet I am able to post to the blog with pictures from flickr. Makes no sense to me. As a result, all updates will have a flickr picture.

Nearly ALL of my Christmas gifts were knitting related. I’m pleased with this…there isn’t much else I need anyway. In this picture: my ball winder and swift for helping to wind balls of yarn, my beautiful knitting needle case, and some Noro Iro yarn with a pattern and new bamboo needles for the pattern.

Christmas dinner was fabulous. Too much but fabulous. I’ll probably be eating leftovers for a few days…especially because Patrick & his brother are leaving in the morning to visit DC for a few days. Patrick’s brother is treating him to the trip…I would have gotten to come along as well but I have to work everyday until the 1st of the year. Ugh. But I’m glad they’re going…it’ll do Patrick good to get out of the house for a little while. I’ll spend my home from work time knitting and watching chick flicks and bad sitcoms.

Back to knitting. Now that I’ve completed Clapotis hell, I’m about to pick about a purse I started months and months ago. I should be able to finish it in a couple of days tops. Then I’ll probably start another one. And another one. After Mom bought 3 of my purses from etsy, I don’t have very many listed anymore. Time to get knitting and felting.

January is almost here and I’m looking forward to slightly shorter and easier days at work. I just have to get through the next 6 days of being as busy as the restaurant can be.

Life is good. Life is boring. I have nothing exciting to tell. Sorry. Bye!!

Wow. They’re done. They’re finally done.

I feel like I’ve been knitting those things for eternity. Or longer.

Mom, Tasha & Kristal were all delighted with them. I told them that they could switch colors if they wanted…knowing that they won’t because they’re well matched as they are.

Too bad this picture isn’t brighter. I should have used the flash.

Christmas is upon us. I should be asleep as I only got 4 hours last night.

Patrick and I went to Tasha & Jeremy’s for the McKelvey Christmas stuff this afternoon (Christmas Eve). Patrick felt horrific but came along anyway…even if he had no appetite for food at that point.

Then we came back here and he started cooking his elaborate Christmas dinner for his family. At least 4 courses. Maybe 5. We’re having: crab & corn chowder, duck over a salad with maple dressing, standing rib roast with green beans, mashed potatoes & squash with onions. He may make an appetizer using white asparagus and bacon as well. Then we get chocolate cake for dessert. And I forgot to mention that he’s been curing a ham from scratch in the fridge for the last month. That’s for breakfast in the morning. I think I shall eat too well tomorrow.

Guess that’s it for the second.

I may finally knit something different when I complete this…or at the very least, I’ll start knitting quick purses again.

This one is being gifted…but I like the colors so much that it’s going to be hard to part with it.

This one is knit with 6 skeins of Noro Kureyon…all bought on sale.

This one is a bit skinnier than the others but only took 4 skeins of Noro Silk Garden. It’s still very nice. I’m not quite sure what to do with this one yet…gift it or keep it?

Socks knit by Alison

It’s the first really and truly cold day of the season. I believe the temperature will drop into the teens tonight. I put on these socks as soon as I got back from work…if I’m wearing socks without shoes, it must be cold.

Alison knit these for me last winter from Sunshine Yarns Gryffindor variegated yarn. They’re soft and fit perfectly…and don’t match my striped pants at all.
